Activated Charcoal may colour the faeces black.
Activated Charcoal may interfere with the absorption of other drugs when administered concurrently. It may potentially reduce the absorption of many drugs including oral Acetylcysteine or other oral medications, from the gastrointestinal tract and simultaneous oral therapy should therefore be avoided.
If you have bowel obstruction/ ileus (condition where the bowel does not work properly), activated charcoal may not be suitable for you.
It is not recommended for use in the treament of poisoning.
